Try Hookie freeNo credit card · Free plan included

Formspree is a form backend built around email: point a form at it and submissions arrive in your inbox, with file uploads on paid plans. Hookie takes the same plain <form method="post"> and stores each submission as a searchable record, then forwards it wherever you want: your own service, Slack, email through your provider, or an AI step that scores it. Hookie's plans count events, not just form submissions, so the same account takes your webhooks too.

Side by side

Formspree's column is from its own site, checked on 7 October 2026. Prices and limits change, so check formspree plans before you decide.

When Formspree is the better pick

  • You want each submission in your inbox with no other setup: Formspree's email is built in, and Hookie needs your email provider's API key.
  • People upload files with the form.
  • Your plan is to keep submissions for a long time with little volume: Formspree's paid archive is unlimited.

When Hookie is

  • You get more than a few hundred submissions a month: Hookie's free plan takes 1,000 and Pro takes 100,000.
  • You want submissions forwarded, signed and retried, to your own service or Slack, on every plan.
  • The same place takes your Stripe, GitHub and alert webhooks, and an AI step can triage what arrives.

Try it on the free plan: create an endpoint, or read the Stripe, GitHub and Shopify guides and pricing.
